Abstract

Health communication contributes to the success of health services between health care professionals and patients, as it works as a bridge to remove misunderstandings related to mistreatment, malpractice, and unsatisfactory health outcomes. Therefore, through this study, we seek to shed light on the communication process through the most important theories and studies  that attempted to explain and interpret the health communication, conducted in the field of health care  in which communication theories were applied to improve health care practices and raise the quality of medical services. It contributed to developing methods of communicating with patients. This article reviews communication theories and studies that have been applied in health care when dealing with patients.
